Free Video Editing Software
Here is a compilation of the free video editing software that is available. It is not particularly ordered in any way other than to highlight the ones that I consider mainstream for the available Operating Systems and then those cross-platform. These are Windows Movie Maker (not the best, but comes preinstalled), iMovie (possibly the best free video editing software around) and Cinelerra (the one that makes professional video editing as cheap as the cheapest computer you can buy*)

More Free Video Editing Software
More reviews and tutorials will be posted here. Use the bookmark tools below, or Ctrl+D to come back to the list later. Subscribe to the RSS feed and I will keep you posted with the latest news and tutorials of the video editing world.
*There are some minimum requirements for running the software and some recommended requirements for running the software in a usable and effective way, but other than that, any Linux supported computer will do. Cinelerra is the best option if you do not have a Mac already and you do not want or cannot buy one. If you are running on Windows, you could probably be running on Linux. And if you are serious about video editing, Cinelerra gives the best “bang for the buck”.
